Welcome to the Department of Accounting's Home Page. The Department is the University's largest academic Department serving approximately 1,100 students in its undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs. Accounting Department's faculty members are among the very best accounting professors in the country utilizing innovative approaches to learning and state-of-the-art educational learning tools.
The Department is home to three very active student organizations, Beta Alpha Psi (National Honorary Society in Accounting), the Accounting Society and Toastmasters. These organizations meet weekly and host a number of important events such as the Fall Awards Breakfast, the Winter Career Conference and the Spring Awards Banquet. The Department's Advisory Board plays a very important role in assuring that our programs properly prepare graduates for an exciting and rewarding career in public accounting, private industry, governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The business community contributes generously to the Department's scholarship program. Last year, the Department awarded over $20,000 in scholarships at its awards functions.
An excellent advisement program is available to every student enrolled in the Department. The advisement offered by our faculty includes not only advice on how to plan your program but how to plan for a successful career in accounting, as well.
