Access to Business Faculty
The HCM program at Cal State is one of the few in the nation which is housed in a College of Business. Along with other business students, HCM students take mostly business courses taught by business faculty. Some courses are interdisciplinary; some specialized course are taught by practicing professionals in the field.

Flexibility
Our year-round quarter system allows you to complete your degree in a shorter period of time than at some campuses. This fast track can cut the length of your program by up to 25%, depending on the number of units you take each quarter. Because more than half of our students are also employed full time, courses are scheduled in the late afternoon and evening hours. Students take courses at the pace that is appropriate for them; some complete the program in as few as 5 quarters.
Experienced Students
The quality of classroom discussions is enhanced by the fact that most students in the program have several years of real world work experience in health care settings, often in management. The program draws health professionals, health service managers, and others from a variety of facilities in the Los Angeles area, from across the nation, and from foreign countries.
Established Record of Success
No newcomer to the field, the program at Cal State, L.A. has been producing trained graduates since 1975. Many of these graduates have advanced to leadership positions in the health care industry in southern California and throughout the United States.
