We also offer a Minor in Management for students seeking to complement their major with classes in leadership and management skills. There are several certificate programs available in Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Management, and Operations Management for non-matriculated students. At the graduate level students may specialize in a Management Option in the Master in Business Administration (MBA) and we offer a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Management.
We serve approximately 1600 students per quarter. The Department employs fourteen full-time faculty members and numerous regular part-time faculty members with specialties in management, operations management, human resources, entrepreneurship and healthcare management. Our faculty use innovative teaching methods including team teaching, field studies, service learning, class simulations and debates, and computer simulated business games.
There are five student organizations available to encourage student leadership opportunities and provide professional networking and learning to all students: PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources Management), ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives), ECCO (Entrepreneurial Collegiate Consulting Organization, APICS (The Association for Operations Management), and SAM (Society for Advanced Management).
Advisors are available to discuss career options, student leadership opportunities, program and class choices and general questions related to careers. Please visit the Management Department office in Simpson Tower F717 and pick up our advisement materials including advisors’ schedules, a flow diagram of the business core courses and program sheets.
