Instructions for Authors
Business Forum is directed to a wide mix of practitioners and academicians. Its readership includes senior executives, middle managers, public policy makers, students, and scholars. Our primary aim is to disseminate the results of new and original scholarly activity to a broader audience. Thus, articles should be well supported, but not overly technical or specialized. As a general guideline, use discipline-specific terminology only if you need to convey a precise meaning. If you do so, include a definition of terms. We urge prospective authors to study recent issues of Business Forum as a guide for format and focus.
The suggested length for articles is 10 to 15 pages, approximately 2,500 to 4,000 words. Book reviews of approximately 5001,500 words also are published and should include the author's name and identification. Articles should include topical subheads as appropriate. Authors should submit two typewritten copies of each manuscript, double-spaced, on 8.5"X 11" paper, plus a disk in Word for PC or Mac. A cover sheet that includes the title of the article and the author's name and position. (Title should be attached. The first page of the manuscript should contain only the title of the article. A short biographical paragraph about each author (two or three sentences) should be included on a separate sheet. Manuscripts may also be submitted by e-mail to the address shown at the heading of home page.
The editors ask that references be kept to a minimum and that all bracketed and parenthetical material be incorporated into the text. References should be numbered consecutively and listed on a separate sheet at the end of the manuscript. Tables, graphs, and diagrams should be placed on separate sheets of paper with notations in the text to indicate where they belong. If mathematical expressions are included, they should be accompanied by a clear explanation of the content.
Editors assume that all articles that are submitted contain original material that has not been published previously, nor submitted elsewhere for publication.
